Elektromobilität: Neue Wallbox für Volvo Elektrofahrzeuge.

In den letzten Wochen wurden die Pläne zur Elektrifizierung der Marke Volvo konkretisiert. Dazu passt nun auch die neue Wallbox für zu Hause, um den eigenen Volvo zu laden.

Nach mehreren Jahren erfolgreicher Partnerschaft zwischen Volvo Cars und
AeroVironment haben beide Unternehmen vor wenigen Tagen eine Verlängerung der Partnerschaft und neue gemeinsame Projekte angekündigt.
Das 1. neue Projekt war die Entwicklung  der 2. Charging Station für elektische Volvo-Fahrzeuge, die global angeboten werden soll.

Zuvor hatten die Kalifornier mit Sitz in  Monrovia eine TurboCord EVSE Ladestation für den Volvo XC90 T8 und eine EVSE-RS Charging Station für die Händler in den USA entwickelt.

Die neue Ladestation ist für den Innen-und Außenbereich geeignet und ist an das Volvo Design angepasst. Das aufgebrachte Volvo-Logo zeigt eindeutig, zu welcher Marke die Ladestation gehört.
Angeboten wird das Ladegerät weltweit, und wird an die jeweiligen Landesnetzte angepasst.

 Die offizielle Pressemitteilung von Ken Karklin- vice president von AeroVironment lautet wie folgt:

“Incorporating customer design elements and branding specifically for Volvo Cars, this charging station can be conveniently wall mounted. It will enable drivers to charge their vehicles up to three times faster than is possible with a standard cordset.

AeroVironment is developing a premium custom EV charger that aligns with the premium image of the Volvo XC90 and a growing line of Volvo Cars’ plug-in hybrid vehicles.”
“AeroVironment’s charging station design will incorporate global third-party safety agency certifications for each market including UL, CE and China CQC. The new charging station will be designed with a weather-resistant IP55 enclosure and will deliver AC power safely to a vehicle’s on-board charger both indoors and outdoors.”
